Mangalagiri, August 5, 2025 – In a significant stride toward community-driven digital transformation, Shri Nara Lokesh, Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services, Government of Andhra Pradesh, launched the pilot version of Project M, a real-time citizen engagement and public service platform, at his office residence in Mangalagiri. Developed by Halfbrain Technologies, this marks the first major rollout under the Model Mangalagiri initiative, aimed at building scalable, people-centric digital infrastructure.
Project M is designed to simplify and accelerate how citizens interact with governance systems. It empowers residents, civic volunteers, and public representatives to collaborate through an integrated digital platform focused on speed, accessibility, and transparency.
A Platform Rooted in Citizen-Centric Design
With over 18 months of development and feedback from more than 6,800 beta users, Project M is engineered to address everyday civic issues through technology. It provides a structured ecosystem where grievances can be reported, tracked, and resolved in real time.
Key features include:
- Real-time complaint and issue reporting with live tracking
- Verified local news and public announcements
- Direct feedback tools for suggestions or concerns
- A digital blood bank for healthcare emergencies
- Local job listings targeting youth and professionals
- A digital marketplace to support small vendors and self-employed residents
The interface is intentionally simple and mobile-optimized, ensuring usability for people with limited digital literacy.
Driving Collaboration and Community Impact
During the launch, Shri Nara Lokesh engaged directly with the team behind Project M, discussing the platform’s relevance in shaping responsive governance and fostering innovation at the constituency level. The conversation touched on themes such as startup ecosystems, design thinking for public utilities, and the larger vision of a digital-first civic model.
He commended the initiative and emphasized the role of such platforms in strengthening trust, speeding up public service delivery, and creating meaningful dialogue between citizens and their representatives.
Looking Ahead: Phase Two of Project M
The next phase of Project M is scheduled for rollout in September 2025. It will introduce advanced features focused on deeper engagement and faster action.
Upcoming additions include:
- Tools to track progress on local development projects
- A direct communication interface with public offices
- Sentiment analysis dashboards to gauge public concerns
- Microtask allocation for volunteers to accelerate on-ground action
The project aims to scale to 100,000 verified users in the next six months, aligning with goals of transparency, accountability, and citizen participation.
